Job Description:
Prioritizes, plans, organizes and conducts investigations.
Supports the Medical Consultant and Outside Medical Consultants to coordinate resources in
their processing of cases.
Collects data and ensures quality control and timely completion of projects and cases.
Organizes cases that go before the Board.
Responds to inquiries from licensers and complainants regarding investigations.
Organizes the investigations of allegations against osteopathic physicians in Arizona concerning
quality of care and professional conduct violations including sensitive issues such as substance
abuse and sexual misconduct. Oversee investigative process, assignments, and workflow track
status of all open cases and strive to open and process cases in a timely manner. Works to
decrease the number of days it takes to resolve a case.
Incorporate guidance via the OSA statutes and rules as they apply to investigations.
Sends out materials for the Board's review. Maintains high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Reviews and edits report from the investigative staff.
Prepare cases to go before the Board. Work with the Senior Investigator, the Medical
Consultant, and the ED to brief them on cases coming before the Board.
Respond to calls from licensees and complainants regarding investigation and other duties as
assigned.
Participates in investigative meetings to assess which cases are ready for the next Board
meeting. Assists within the Agency where there is an open position or increased flow of work
that exceeds the current staff's ability to handle the workload. Become adept at understanding
and utilizing Thentia software. Supports a "can do" attitude within a collaborative team.
Other duties as assigned related to the position.
