    The Investment Operations team is seeking a motivated intern to gain hands-on experience working with industry-leading custodians such as Charles Schwab and Bank of New York Mellon/Pershing. This internship provides exposure to multiple areas of the financial services industry, including investment advising, operations, technology, and tax-related processes.

    Job Summary:

    The Investment Advisory Services Intern supports our Financial Advisors and Investment Advisory Services teams through hands-on training, guided account servicing activities, and issue resolution. This role is designed to build a strong foundation in advisory operations by learning how new accounts, money movements, and asset transfers flow through our custodial partners, while developing troubleshooting and problem-solving skills alongside experienced team members.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with special projects focused on learning regulatory, compliance, and operational workflows, including research and data updates
    • Assist with new account setup and account maintenance activities by learning and supporting asset transfers and money movements through our custodial partners
    • Review custodial reports and notifications to identify issues, learn resolution workflows, and support follow-up under team guidance
    • Primary tools to manage daily workflows: Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics
    • Industry platforms you will be trained on: Valmark’s MyCase, LaserApp, Schwab Advisor Center, and Pershing NetX360
    • Document detailed and accurate notes in CRM systems for follow-up and collaboration with team members
    • Support daily follow-up on outstanding new account and investment advisory requests, escalating issues as needed
    • Support team members with research, issue resolution, and troubleshooting
    • Provide backup assistance to other team members as business needs arise
    • Perform additional duties and projects assigned by management

    Requirements:

    • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
    • Currently enrolled pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
    • Availability to work onsite in Akron, OH:
      • 16–24 hours per week during spring and fall semesters
      • 30–40 hours per week during summer months

    Pay: $20 per hour
