Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end investment account administration (openings, transfers, rollovers, distributions, exception handling)
- Lead, coach, and develop a small investment operations team; conduct performance reviews and guide growth
- Serve as the primary liaison with custodians, TPAs, and investment vendors
- Lead onboarding and transitions of new and existing 401(k) plans
- Partner closely with accounting, tax, and financial planning teams to deliver seamless client service
- Systematize workflows, strengthen controls, and drive scalability and accuracy
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Make independent operational decisions; escalate only strategic items to leadership
Qualifications
- 3+ years of investment operations experience with demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Prior team leadership/supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of account types, transfer mechanics, and relevant regulations
- Experience serving business owners or self-employed professionals (preferred)
- Advanced Excel and familiarity with modern financial software platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Series 7 (or similar) a plus, not required
- Hands-on leader who’s comfortable rolling up their sleeves to eliminate errors and improve systems
