WE ARE LOOKING TO ADD TWO (2) PART-TIME MUSIC THERAPISTS TO OUR TEAM! THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING MUSIC THERAPY SERVICES TO RESIDENTS
LICENSES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Current MT-BC status (Board Certified Music Therapist)
Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and chronically ill.
Ability to work with the elderly.
Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and facility staff in the performance of duties.
Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Ability to work hours as scheduled, based on the requirements of the position.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Assess each resident referred to music therapy in a timely manner.
Determine appropriate music therapy treatment based on referral and assessment of resident.
Provide a variety of music therapy treatment groups to residents in order to improve quality of life, promote responses, encourage relaxation and achieve other non-musical goals documented in residents’ care plans.
Work as a member of the care plan team to provide effective treatment to residents.
Provide information to team in regard to progress of resident.
Document resident goals and progress on a weekly basis.
Chart information (progress note) on a quarterly basis.
Report unusual behavior/condition/occurrences of resident immediately to appropriate department head; Director of Nursing, Unit Manager and/or Social Services.
Present information to the general public on music therapy at a variety of marketing engagements.
Present information on music therapy to staff during orientation and in-services.
Include music therapy as part of services for staff.
