    BASIC FUNCTION: 

    Utilizes Company’s MRP, accounting, and scheduling systems to forecast, monitor and control production schedules, WIP levels, procurement requirements, and supplier performance for products and processes assigned by the Production Control Manager. Requires a hands-on ability to perform all production control and inventory control functions, including material planning, product flow scheduling, inventory cycle-counting and reconciliation. Should also be able to locate, develop, and maintain effective but market-competitive relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants whose cost-effective, on-time, and high quality performance is a vital ingredient of Anvil’s growth and profitability. Works closely with Production, Purchasing and Quality functions to assure successful achievement of perform-to-schedule goals.

    MAJOR DUTIES: 

    • Personally forecast, schedule, review, monitor, report and take corrective systems action in support of specific product and inventory goals assigned by the Production Control Manager, which are based on performance-to-schedule. Take active part in supporting schedule commitments with hands-on expediting and facilitating of materials, components, products or other necessary resources.
    • Process requisitions, purchase orders, and all associated paperwork/computer systems requirements within the time frames required to achieve timely and cost-effective supply of material, parts, and components to Production and Staff functions. Remain organized in stressful situations to be able to provide clear and unambiguous direction to suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants.
    • Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality and Production departments, within policy parameters established by the Production Control Manager, to assure communication of timely and accurate scheduling information. Closely monitor production and backlog status with respect to performance goals established by the Production Control Manager.
    • Work closely with Quality and Engineering personnel to communicate and verify all systems and product requirements for ISO-9002 compliance by ASC's supplier base. Constantly develop and recognize the quality, delivery and cost performance achievements of suppliers to foster a trusting and professionally competitive partnership with the supplier base.
    • Through training and personal commitment, develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s MRP, scheduling and planning systems and become proficient in motivating and training other personnel in the importance and use of these systems.
    • Review, develop and submit to the Production Control Manager for approval, significant product and/or material stocking, WIP or macro-production schedules which might be expected to impact performance-to-schedule or profitability goals on the products/processes assigned by the Production Control Manager.
    • Provide technical and administrative support to the Production Control Manager as requested regarding all aspects of MRP, scheduling/WIP management, etc.

     

    Required Skills

    EDUCATION - BS degree in a technical discipline preferred. Advanced degree in a related subject and/or professional certification (APICS, NAPM, etc.) would be a strong plus. Industry and/or company-sponsored.
