THE HEART OF THE DIRECTOR POSITION IS MANAGING ACCOUNTS AND DEVELOPING JUNIOR RESEARCHERS INTO FUTURE LEADERS AT IPSOS.

    IDEAL PROFILE:

    • A track record in the successful growth and development of junior team members
    • Expertise in quantitative research design, interpretation and analysis of results, delivering strategic insights that impact client business decisions
    • Proven success building and maintaining client relationships through exceptional service and deliverables
    • Passion for helping clients make better business decisions through monitoring, analyzing, and integrating multiple sources of market research data

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Maintain strong client relationships and work to develop those relationships through frequent client contact including travel to client sites, leading meetings/presentations, delivering insightful research solutions
    • Ownership of your business, including management of account profitability and internal/external resources
    • Oversight and/or management of all aspects of the research process from proposal writing and research design, to analysis and interpretation of results, through reporting and presentation of results
    • Mentor junior team members to provide insightful and reliable results in a timely manner
    • Proactively seek opportunities for consultative client engagement, including discussion of broader business issues and interesting trends that can impact their business (i.e., not just project logistics)

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE  

    • 8+ years of supplier-side market research experience (client-side experience also valuable)
    • 3+ years of supervisory experience (i.e., managing a team of research professionals)
    • Work well in a team-based environment
    • Proven experience building and managing successful client relationships
    • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Able to adjust presentation focus “on the fly” based on audience, context and feedback.
    • Superior organizational, multi-tasking, decision-making and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted research programs and to create, manage, and commit to a project plan, schedule and budget
    • Data savvy with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Resourceful, pragmatic, and flexible but always standards-oriented
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems; SPSS or similar a plus, but not necessary. Data visualization skills in PowerPoint a big plus
    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
    • Travel is mandatory. Overall time dedicated to travel will be ~10%. Most of your time spent traveling would involve seeing clients based in Canada and/or the US.
