    JOB FUNCTION:

    This position is responsible for ensuring the purity of the water processed for MPW Industrial Water customers at various project sites. The Site Technician will be responsible for providing our on-site technical customer service. This individual will be responsible for chemical tests, chemical feed and control equipment maintenance, chemical inventory management, technical recommendations, and written service reports. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Performs the required labor; including hose and pipe assembly, chemical drum handling, chemical transfer, filter backwashes, filter media replacement, pump maintenance, membrane cleaning and replacement.
    2. Adheres to all Safety rules, regulations and guidelines; including proper housekeeping.
    3. Uses monitoring equipment to test water quality to assure established standards are being met.
    4. Travels to various project sites and maintains MPW Water Purification Equipment.
    5. Tracks the performance, via daily logs, of the equipment at the various project sites.
    6. Responsible for calibration of monitoring equipment.
    7. Perform water analysis and/or collect samples for preparation, labeling and shipment to designated laboratory for analysis
    8. Completes PC-based reports on site conditions, test results, site corrections and site deficiencies.
    9. Work with PLC controls; repair pumps, instruments and control panels
    10. Trouble shoots system operational problems and makes corrections when appropriate.
    11. Provides ongoing interface with customers to assure they are satisfied with job.
    12. Act as technical consultant and liaison with customer management and technical counterparts
    13. Maintain inventory of spare parts (lube oil, tubing, and piping), and adequate supply of reagents, sample containers, and shipment containers necessary for routine as well as special sampling and analysis

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Maintains daily communication with respective Regional Field Service Manager.
    2. May be required to assist at regeneration facilities when necessary.
    3. Ability to work with other technicians on site in a team environment.

    Required Skills

     

    1. Ability to carry/lift up to 75 lbs.
    2. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, sit and maneuver in confined spaces.
    3. Ability to wear respirators in environments that may expose you to chemicals, fumes, etc.
    4. Ability to maintain workloads that may include travel to a variety of states for multiple days, and daily timeframes that could exceed the typical 8-hour shift, as needed.

    Required Experience

     

    1. High School Diploma or GED.
    2. Valid Driver’s license.
    3. College Degree preferred
    4. 3-4 years of mechanical experience preferred.
    5. PLC experience preferred
  • Qualifications
