    DIRECTOR, USER EXPERIENCE ​| FINANCE

    We’re growing and looking for UX leaders with experience in fintech and financial services! The Director is responsible for managing multiple UX activities for our financial clients and helping guide our research team in new areas of emerging technology and capabilities for financial services both in the US and globally. This position oversees all phases of UX projects, including bidding and scoping, preparation, execution, and delivery. You’ll be an independent team leader working within a strong portfolio, but with freedom to grow our account base. You will also serve as a representative of UX as a Senior Practice Lead (SPL) to others within the Ipsos organization.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Director is responsible for managing established relationships, as well as identifying new opportunities and growing our reputation within finance / fintech.  

     

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Solid consulting skills and demonstrated expertise with UX research products and methods, especially within the financial space. Ability to be a trusted advisor for clients. ​
    • Proven team leader and mentor.​
    • Proven ability to deliver strong presentations and justify design recommendations.​
    • Ability to create dialogue with clients around equitable, inclusive, and accessible design and bring a user-centered lens to all team initiatives. ​
    • 5-10 years experience in user experience or a related field (e.g. qualitative or quantitative research) required.​
    • 5+ years of experience in user experience research or design is highly preferred. Agency/consulting experience preferred. ​Experience in finance and fintech is also strongly preferred.

     

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in human factors, HCI, Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, Visual Design, Behavioral Sciences or equivalent experience is required (Master’s degree or higher preferred).​

     

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Act as a project and thought leader within UX to bring fintech expertise to the team and build awareness of emerging technology, new payment offerings and consumer and B2B trends in the US and globally. Provide creative solution-focused direction to challenges. ​
    • Work to improve the UX finance practice by contributing to team initiatives with subject matter expertise (e.g., user journey mapping, training, onboarding, process improvement, etc.).​
    • Represent and champion the value of UX to external and internal clients, demonstrating knowledge of our approach, methodology and solutions to meet business needs. ​
    • Collaborate with other teams in Ipsos to bring relevant market research capabilities to bear on innovation and product development through joint proposals and project execution
    • Help clients understand the global financial services product and service space and ensure that local and regional trends as well as cultural nuance are kept at the forefront of global research design and execution.
    • Manage multiple large research projects, focusing on all aspects of project management and execution through to delivery (research / design approach, execution, quality assurance, analysis, etc.).​
    • Provide team oversight during the project to ensure high quality execution at all stages.​
    • Create and/or review client deliverables and design recommendations to ensure impact, actionability, and grounding in research findings. ​
    • Serve as main client point of contact for key account(s) with responsibility for maintaining and growing client relationship. ​
    • Lead sales activities including working with Client Officers and UX team members to identify leads, lead sales meetings, define research design for proposals, oversee bidding activities, and close sales opportunities. ​
    • Use expertise to identify the best method for a given problem and provide rationale for solutions to guide project design​
