SUMMARY
The Assistant Corporate Controller is responsible for ensuring the accounting function complies with all external/SEC reporting requirements and is the primary interface with external auditors. In addition, the Assistant Corporate Controller will insure internal accounting and reporting practices support the decision-making needs of the business. The Assistant Corporate Controller will also support strategic initiatives such as acquisitions and financial system improvements.
The Assistant Corporate Controller is a key member of the Corporate Finance Organization and will lead the Corporate Accounting, External Reporting, Shared Services, and Accounting functions for both operating segments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead and develop a team of high potential finance professionals.
Responsible for timely and accurate dissemination of internal financial reports and related financial analysis on a monthly basis highlighting major issues, trends, and commentary on variances from budget, prior year and forecast.
Design and build presentations for Executive and Board level audiences
Manage the timely and accurate preparation and review of the quarterly and year-end filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and other required SEC-like filings.
Responsible for all technical and accounting memos required as part of our quarterly and annual financial reporting.
Lead the management of the of external audit and interaction with regulatory agencies as needed.
Conduct research regarding the impact to financial statements of potential changes to accounting rules proposed by accounting standards setters, and advises senior management regarding the same.
Support investor relations, providing financial information and support for earnings releases and analyst presentations.
Assist with accounting and financial due diligence on acquisitions.
Oversee the preparation of the equity roll forward, stock-based comp, EPS and Statement of Cash Flows.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
Minimum Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (minimum); Master’s Degree (preferred)
Special Certification or Licensing: CPA (required)
Special Requirements: May work beyond normal company hours due to business/customer need and travel as required
EXPERIENCE
Minimum experience: Minimum 15 years of experience with increasing responsibility of management positions within Finance/Accounting areas.
Big 4 and/or SEC reporting experience preferred.
Must have standard, advanced, or expert skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience with large-company ERP systems and consolidation systems (preference would be experience with JD Edwards, Oracle, and/or Hyperion HFM)
