    Ipsos Translation Services is Ipsos North America’s centre of excellence for translation for markets in Canada, the US and overseas. We are currently seeking an individual to join our team to fill a ONE-YEAR TERM ENTRY LEVEL POSITION in the WINNIPEG office located at 185 Carlton Street.

     

    TRANSLATION PROJECT MANAGER

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The successful applicant will manage translations for International Online Research Projects:

    • Single point of contact (SPOC) for international translation projects between internal teams and translation vendors
    • Manages several research projects concurrently while ensuring that each is smoothly executed on budget and on schedule
    • Participates in kick-off calls with all teams to confirm the translation process and timings
    • Briefs external vendors on project specifications and provides clarification as needed for translation orders
    • Works with internal colleagues to schedule translation quality reviews (proofreading sessions, reporting issues, and ensuring the necessary revisions are implemented)
    • Monitors project costs, manages translation vendor invoices and provides updated budgets to internals teams in a timely manner if specifications change
    • Estimate and quote translation costs – receive new requests from internal teams, clarify project specifications and prepare/deliver cost and timing estimates; upon job confirmation, ensures the final materials align with the original specifications, costing and timings

      

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

     Ideal Candidate has the following Skills and Experience:

    • Excellent time management skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with internal clients and external translation vendors
    • Ability to manage client expectations by clearly outlining the translation process and providing timely updates on project status
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that clearly articulate requirements to a wide audience
    • Analytical, creative and resourceful approach to problem solving with a strong sense of project ownership
    • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and commitment to the accuracy and completeness of materials
    • Excellent command of Microsoft office (expertise in Microsoft excel is required), as well as the ability to work with a proprietary translation entry system of which training will be provided
    • Fluency in a second language or an interest in linguist studies not required, but would be considered an asset for the position
