    ABOUT PUBLIC AFFAIRS: 

    The Public Affairs Service Line is the world leader in Social and Opinion Research.  We work with clients on political and public opinion polling, citizen and stakeholder management, social policy improvement, sustainable development strategy and identifying societal trends and perceptions across several sectors. We assess how government and public affairs policies as well as societal trends and views impact our client’s brand/products/markets. 

     

    WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE IMPORTANT AT IPSOS?

    Members of the Ipsos Public Affairs team have advanced degrees in such fields as psychology, sociology, political science, economics, public policy analysis, demography, public health, statistics, international development, business, administration, marketing, and social sciences. Our professionals focus on collecting quantitative and qualitative data in statistically sound manners, performing advanced data analytics on that data to generate new insights for our clients, and providing data-driven advisory services to our clients to strengthen their organizational strategies and processes. Our researchers are thought leadersonissues as developing estimates from non-probability samples, using quasi-experimental methods to evaluate program impact , measuring the performance of health systems in delivering positive patient experiences, and using research to inform and refine interventions to change stakeholder behaviors. We have developed a center of expertise that focuses on improving healthcare quality, increasing accountability, providing market insights, and advising on new and emerging health policy issues.

    WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING:

    · Manage Deal Flow: Closes deals for the company or captures new clients and new business. This position also includes market research activities such as competitive and opportunity analysis.

    · Business Development Strategy: Devises a strategy for identifying and locating out promising new business opportunities with USAID and other USG clients and multinational donors and turning those opportunities into new business for the company.

    · New Service Strategy: Assist senior leaders identifying emerging areas of business or initiatives to maintain the future health of our business. Contribute to internal strategy briefings to share your expertise with leadership.

    · Manage Partner Relationships: Identify and maintain partner relationships with small-businesses, international non-government organizations, and local partners;

     

    THIS MIGHT BE THE JOB FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE:

    · Proven track record building a pipeline within international agencies (USAID, Department of State, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, World Bank Group, OECD). Experience with UN Agencies, Gavi and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria and added plus.

    · Extensive knowledge of USAID projects, programs, resources, and services including procurement mechanisms in order to identify and propose potential opportunities.

    · Track record managing capture for and winning large, USAID contracts; preferably those focused on monitoring, evaluation, research, and/or learning (MERL). Experience working in global health an added plus

    · Demonstrated in-depth understanding of USAID’s changing environment including focus on “localization”, including a broad network of local partners in low and middle income countries.

    · Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent deals

    · Advancing opportunities in the pipeline to maximize p-win

    · Developing teaming strategies and execution of top opportunities

    · Ability to develop client relationships and penetrate new markets though BD/Sales activities to include cold calling etc.

    · Communicates capture strategy to the business development team and makes sure it is implemented effectively.

    · Assists in training other team members in capture methods

    · Recruits subcontractors to help the company successfully bid on projects.

    · Conducts competitive and market analysis research, in particular with the USG international market

    · Meets with prospective clients and teaming partners to answer questions and discuss a possible contract.

    · Understands every aspect of a business opportunity including the scope of the project, how many resources will be needed, the impact on schedules, competitive pricing and budget concerns.

    · Works with proposal technical teams to ensure that a top-notch proposal is submitted to the prospective client.

    · Establishes and builds relationships with prospective and existing clients.

    · Develops a plan for making regular contact with prospective client targets.

    · Studies key competitors, conducts black hat analysis.

    · Must have experience capturing accounts, in particular USAID

    · Must have experience with opportunity-researching tools including BGov.

    · Must be an expert decision-maker with sound judgment.

    · Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    · Must be a strong public speaker.

    · Excellent analytical skills are essential.

    · Must have strong business acumen and negotiating skills.

    · Must have basic computer skills including MS Office
