    Job Description

    Position: Natural Resources Manager

    Location: Denver, Colorado

     

    Summary

    We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable Natural Resources Team Manger to join our client's growing team of diverse professionals. They are a full-service environmental and regulatory consulting firm based in Denver, Colorado. Founded in 2016 they have quickly become a top choice for clients in the construction, oil & gas, renewable energy, electric utility, and government sectors.

     

    Job Responsibilities and Functions

    • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff
    • Project management of multiple, simultaneous projects for different clients in different industries in a dynamic work environment
    • Coordinate scheduling, data transfer, and reporting with other field staff and project managers
    • Create new project scopes, budgets, and designs
    • Experience developing, implementing, and managing natural resources survey and reporting protocol
    • Advises management and project teams on proper interpretation and implementation of environmental regulations
    • Independently conduct and lead fieldwork efforts
    • Conduct desktop assessments and field surveys for wildlife, vegetation, and surface waters, and delineate wetlands, waters of the state, and Waters of the U.S. per USACE permitting standards
    • Lead state and federal natural resources permitting efforts (e.g. USACE/EPA, USFWS, CPW, COGCC, etc.)
    • Consult with federal, state, and local agencies on regulatory issues
    • Business development and management of client relations
    • Create, review, and improve client deliverables including written reports and maps
    • Write technical reports, scientific documents, and client memos by analyzing and interpreting proprietary and public data sets
    • Expand working knowledge of various environmental disciplines
    • Create educational materials for internal training purposes and lead staff training efforts
    • Perform additional assignments as necessary

    Experience:

    • 10+ years of experience of increasing fieldwork and project management experience in a consulting setting.
    • 8+ years of experience with federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Bachelor’s in wildlife biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Policy, or related field

     

    Requirements:

    • Experience with evaluating/maintaining environmental regulatory compliance
    • Expertise in wildlife and vegetation surveys, including regulated species under MBTA, ESA, and Noxious Weed Regulations
    • Expertise in wetland and surface water delineations and evaluations
    • Technical writing expertise
    • Demonstrated experience and increasing responsibilities leading teams in a management role • Experience in implementing process improvement principles
    • Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience.
    • Ability to work in locations that feature rough terrain and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities
    • Interest and proficiency in investigative work, with high attention to detail

     

    Other Requirements:

    • Masters degree is preferred
    • Certified Ecologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, Professional Wildlife Biologist, and/or other related environmental certifications
    • Experience conducting Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments following ASTM International Standard E 1527-13 and ASTM Rural Standard E 2247-16
    • Experience conducting environmental due diligence assessments
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening, which includes a drug test (position is subject to ongoing drug testing as a term of continued employment)
    • Valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle report, and good driving habits


    Additional Information

    Compensation:

    For salaried positions: Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually in this location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.

    Location:

    This position is in Denver, Colorado. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, no relocation or travel assistance will be provided by the Company for this position.

    Work Environment:

    This position operates mainly in an office environment. This entails working inside in an office space wherein employee may be provided a public work station (cubicle) or private office. From time to time, clients and events will require field visits where exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, dust, electrical charges and other unforeseen exposures may be encountered.

    Physical Demands:

    In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individual might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individual might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.

    Position Type and Working Hours:

    This is a full-time position . Typical work hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday. Employee must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and to participate in occasional meetings, events, seminars, conferences, or other activities outside of typical work hours. Employees responsible for project operations are expected to monitor and, in some cases, respond to emails, calls, or texts outside of business hours.

    Travel:

    Occasional travel to work site locations may be expected. Overnight stays may be required from time to time for training, seminars, field visits, or visits to Client locations.
