POSITION SUMMARY
The Structural Designer will create 3D computer models and final construction drawing for foundations, steel structures, and other civil and/or structural projects across multiple industries including oil, gas, chemical, and power for an Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) firm. In addition, the ideal candidate will have previous exposure to projects in oil, gas & chemical, and power markets including experience in crude and refined product terminals, pipelines, facilities, and power generation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
Collaborate with Structural and Civil engineers to fully understand the nature of the design and associated drawing for client projects.
Ability to work as a lead designer on small projects with additional supervisory support. In addition, work with experienced designers and engineers on complex projects and assignments.
Create 3D modes of steel structures and foundations with AutoCAD, CADWorx or Advanced Steel. Maintain accuracy and efficiency in all work product.
Work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, clients, and other disciplines to meet project deliverables.
Review 3D models from other disciplines for structural components and identify proposed improvements and site grading.
Experience and understanding of Navisworks would be a benefit.
Create final construction drawings with updates and comments from engineer with accordance to department standards and guidelines on all drawings.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum: 2+ years of experience in structural design within oil and gas, electrical transmission & distribution, facility, power generation, process or water industries.
Associates Degree in design, applied science, engineering discipline or related field.
REQUIREMENTS
Established knowledge in design, design systems and calculations.
Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbally).
Ability to perform job duties in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities and sometimes under stress.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Work Environment
This position operates mainly in an office environment. This entails working inside in an office. From time to time, clients and events will require field visits where exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, dust, electrical charges and other unforeseen exposures may be encountered.
Physical Demands
In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individual might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl. Individual might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.
Position Type & Working Hours
This is a full-time, project-based position. During a project (durations subject to vary) the hours and schedule will be set by Client company. Project timelines and schedules will be discussed at time of offer.
Travel
Overnight travel is not anticipated in the course of this position.
