    Total Compensation: 55-60k Base Salary, 45-55k Commissions, Company Car.  Includes medical benefits and 401k program.

    Iris Scientific is a specialty recruitment agency laser focused on sales and marketing roles in the North American Scientific Instrumentation Industry.

    We are working with a market leading global microscopy and imaging instrumentation manufacturer to find a field-based Microscopy Sales Consultant, covering the states of Utah, SE Idaho, W Wyoming, and Montana (based out of the Salt Lake City area). Product coverage includes advanced microscopy and imaging products used primarily in life sciences research, clinical laboratories, and biotech/pharma.

    Job Duties:

    The Microscopy Sales Consultant functions as a valuable resource for the end customer and carefully identifies customer needs based upon detailed discussions. Using product and application knowledge, the incumbent provides solutions to meet their needs, including follow up training and support.

    • Provide the customer with demonstration and application notes in order to address all needs and promote a complete solution.
    • Meet sales targets in the growing research microscopy and digital imaging marketplace.
    • Work with the following as appropriate: company sales representatives and marketing personnel, dealers and independent customers in order to meet sales targets.
    • Prepare quotations for customers to include detailed microscopy and digital imaging specifications.
    • Attend trade and local shows as assigned.
    • Work with Specialists to plan and conduct major presentations to explain theory and use of software and imaging products for high-end researchers.
    • Develop proficiency with CRM software to generate Opportunities, Quotes, and search for various data.
    • Develop proficiency with organizational tools and time management skills
    • Develop an understanding of the key accounts in the territory.
    • Develop relationships with leading researchers in the territory in order to enhance the reputation of the company in this market.
    • Attend advanced technical and sales training sessions.
    • Maintain, manage and be accountable for demonstration equipment.
    • Provide Sales Manager with weekly call reports via entries into CRM Calendar and weekly update of CRM open opportunities
    • Work to develop specifications for bids.

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical / Life / Physical Sciences
    • Advanced Degrees Highly Preferred
    • Hands on Experience with Fluorescence Microscopy
    • 1-2 Years of experience in scientific sales or scientific research / project management
    • Must be willing to travel frequently within the assigned territory (50% of the time post-covid), and occasionally throughout the United States
    • Requires a valid drivers license
    • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
