    Iris Scientific is a specialty recruitment agency laser focused on sales and marketing roles in the North American Scientific Instrumentation Industry.

    We are working with a market leading global Life Sciences and Bioprocess Solutions Provider to find a field-based Scientific Sales Specialist for Protein Analysis and Flow Cytometry Products. The candidate should be based out of the Seattle, WA area (qualified candidates will be offered a relocation package).

    Product coverage includes high content flow cytometry and protein/biologics analysis hardware solutions, along with associated reagents and consumables, focused on the academic research, biotech and pharma markets.

    Territory coverage includes the Pacific Northwestern US, and Western Canada.

    We are looking for an early career life science instrumentation sales professional with 2+ years of experience - who has the unique combination of scientific knowledge and credibility, excellent communication skills, an aptitude for business and sales, and cell and molecular biology experience.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the growth of revenue by proactive sales of the Protein Analysis and Flow Cytometry product portfolio in the assigned territory, while developing strong customer relations
    • Achieve sales targets by managing all aspects of the sales cycle; including: prospecting, customer needs-assessment, follow-up, quotation preparation, demonstration, closing, and follow up customer support
    • Conduct on site professional customer meetings and product demonstrations
    • Work closely with cross functional team to create higher market perception and successful strategies to gain business from an account
    • Coordinate and participate in marketing activities in assigned territory
    • Frequently assess the potential of each customer and plan to realize it into business
    • Be active with self-directed learning regarding cell and molecular biology technology/applications, and sales/business practices using extensive company resources
    • Work with Product Management to recommend product improvements, and to further increase product marketability
    • Maintain sales opportunity information within company CRM software to ensure management has accurate sales pipeline information
    • Consistent updates of sales forecast models and diligent management of expense budgeting

    Essential Requirements:

    • University Degree within the life sciences
    • 2+ Years Experience in Life Sciences Instrumentation sales is highly preferred
    • A working knowledge of cell and molecular biology.
    • Understanding of flow cytometry and protein analysis techniques is an advantage
    • Proven ability to identify and close sales opportunities, and develop sales and marketing strategy
    • A high degree of computer literacy is required. Must be proficient within a Windows environment: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
    • Must exhibit a strong ability to work in a team environment
    • Highly developed organizational and project management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should be comfortable presenting complex topics to groups.
    • Must be fully fluent in English
    • Ability to travel overnight up to 30% of the time
    • Requires a valid current drivers license
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
