    Iris Scientific is a specialty recruitment agency laser focused on sales and marketing roles in the North American Scientific Instrumentation Industry.

    We are working with a world class scientific instrumentation manufacturer to find a field-based Advanced Microscopy Account Manager for Montreal and surround areas (based out of Greater Montreal).  Product coverage includes high end life science microscopy solutions for the research, biotech/pharma, and clinical markets.  Full fluency in both French and English is required.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • In the assigned territory, manage and drive the sales process of the following: advanced microscopy products in the following markets: life science research, materials science / engineering research, laboratory medicine, private industry
    • Work independently, and as a team with Applications Specialists to achieve sales targets by managing all aspects of the sales cycle; including: prospecting, customer needs-assessment, follow-up, quotation preparation, demonstration, closing, and follow up customer support
    • Conduct professional on-site customer meetings, product demonstrations, and training / support sessions.
    • Develop a strong understanding and network within all markets and accounts in territory
    • Develop a deep understanding of customer microscopy applications and challenges and make authoritative recommendations on solutions
    • Working with Applications Specialists, respond to institutional RFPs and Tenders in a proficient and timely manner
    • Maintain professional and constructive relationships with colleagues to ensure positive sharing of and collaboration on: product information and feedback, scientific application updates, sales strategies, and general market updates.
    • Maintain sales opportunity information within company CRM software to ensure management has accurate sales pipeline information
    • Attends advanced technical and sales training sessions
    • Attends local and major scientific trade shows as assigned

    Essential Requirements:

    • University Degree within the sciences.Advanced degrees in life or materials sciences highly preferred.
    • A high degree of knowledge and experience with research microscopy and its applications. Experience with advanced techniques such as confocal and fluorescence microscopy is highly advantageous.
    • A high degree of computer literacy is required.Must be proficient within a Windows environment: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to adapt and learn new software is key.
    • Must exhibit a strong ability to work in a team environment
    • Highly developed organizational and project management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Should be comfortable presenting complex topics to groups.
    • A positive and determined attitude, and strong self-directed learning skills with regards to product, applications, and business knowledge
    • Requires travel throughout the Montreal region and Quebec, with occasional trips within Canada and the USA.
    • Must be fully fluent in French and English
    • Requires a valid driver’s license
    • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
