    Iris Scientific is a specialty recruitment agency laser focused on sales and marketing roles in the North American Scientific Instrumentation Industry.

    We are working with a market leading global scientific instrumentation manufacturer to find a Boston Based Technical Sales Specialist for Bio Imaging Contract Research Services.  The candidate should be based out of the Greater Boston Area.

    This role drives new business development, sales, and market penetration of the company's Bio Imaging Contract Research Services.  The market focus is biotech and pharma companies, especially in the Boston area.

    We are looking for someone with the unique combination of:

    • research experience in the life sciences
    • excellent communication and project management skills
    • hands on experience with research microscopy (confocal, fluorescence microscopy, etc)
    • experience or a strong aptitude for business development and sales

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Create and execute a strategic sales plan and achieve sales budget goals.
    • Prospect for new customers and channels to increase business exposure, and develop relationships with existing customers.
    • Work together with the existing company sales teams to increase their awareness and engagement with CRO sales.
    • Expand sales channels to increase market penetration in designated assay service areas and markets through individual actions as well as a part of a coordinated sales team.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling CRO services and instrument services when appropriate.
    • Work closely with CRO scientific teams to develop proposals of pilot studies for prospective customers
    • Maintain sales opportunity information within company CRM software to ensure management has accurate sales pipeline information

    Essential Requirements:

    • University Degree within the life science field. Advanced Degree are highly preferred.
    • A high degree knowledge and experience with life sciences microscopy and its applications. Experience with advanced techniques such as confocal and fluorescence microscopy is preferred.
    • Hands-on experience in general with research applications in the areas of cell and molecular biology is preferred.
    • Broad knowledge of different bioassay applications and workflows that are employed in biotech
    • Hands-on experience in general with research applications in the areas of cell and molecular biology is preferred.
    • Customer service or sales experience in optical instrumentation or Contract Research services is preferred.
    • A high degree of computer literacy is required. Must be proficient within a Windows environment: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Ability to adapt and learn new software is key.
    • Must exhibit a strong ability to work in a team environment
    • Highly developed organizational and project management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should be comfortable presenting complex topics to groups.
    • Must be fully fluent in English
    • Ability to travel overnight up to 50% of the time
    • Requires a valid current drivers license
    • Must be fully authorized to work in the United States without further sponsorship
