    SOFTWARE ENGINEERING INTERN

    Iron Horse is looking for programmers with a passion for development, innovation, and a phenomenal attention to detail for the position of Software Engineering Intern. This position is focused on, but certainly not limited to, frontend web engineering. We're interested in individuals with a thirst to learn about the latest stacks, trends, and buzzwords. Curiosity and experimentation are a must.

    This is a great opportunity to collaborate closely with a diverse group of engineers, designers, and product managers, and work with a broad spectrum of clients on a variety of projects. Our team is small with a focus on individual responsibility and rapid development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed.

    FOCUS

    • Work with other developers to gain experience on real projects.
    • Work within a multi-disciplinary project team in a fast paced environment
    • Work alongside other developers to gain knowledge and best practices across multiple tech stacks.
    • Support the creation and finalization of development deliverables for client projects
    • Building reusable code for future use.
    • Optimizing web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
    • Staying up-to-date on emerging technologies.
    • Promoting usability best practices.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Foundational understanding in one or more technical areas: Frontend systems using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and/or backend systems with proficiency in at least one backend language ( Node, Python, etc ).
    • Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
    • Phenomenal eye for detail.
    • Able to leverage multidisciplinary practices and shift focus easily for a company that values nimble responses to new user and customer expectations.
    • Proven proclivity toward self-ownership and driving results beyond your expected duties for the good of the product and team.
    • Strong communication skills and an ability to work cross-functionally.
    • Naturally curious and passionate about learning new things. Driven by personal growth and commitment to the craft.
