The Irrigation Technician plays a critical role in maintaining optimal growing conditions throughout the flowering facility. This position is responsible for verifying irrigation performance, monitoring environmental conditions, identifying cultivation-related issues, and ensuring consistency across assigned flowering bays. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, observant, possesses strong communication skills, and is passionate about plant health, irrigation systems, and cultivation excellence.
Responsibilities
Perform daily irrigation inspections and verification tasks to ensure accurate water and nutrient delivery throughout the cultivation facility.
Monitor irrigation events, emitter performance, runoff conditions, and overall system functionality.
Conduct routine quality assurance assessments of flowering bays, identifying irrigation, environmental, lighting, and plant health concerns.
Verify environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, VPD, CO₂ levels, and airflow to ensure they remain within established targets.
Inspect lighting systems and report fixture failures, light distribution issues, or abnormalities that may impact plant development.
Evaluate plant expression, vigor, canopy uniformity, and overall crop health, documenting observations and escalating concerns when necessary.
Collect and record cultivation and irrigation data accurately and consistently.
Monitor for signs of nutrient deficiencies, disease pressure, pest activity, or irrigation-related stress.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of irrigation equipment, sampling tools, and designated work areas.
Collaborate effectively with cultivation, irrigation, and facility teams to support crop performance and operational efficiency.
Communicate observations, concerns, and recommendations clearly and professionally to management and team members.
Assist with irrigation system audits, troubleshooting efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Follow all facility SOPs, safety procedures, and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, accurate, and timely updates.
Basic understanding of irrigation systems, plant nutrition, and indoor cultivation practices.
Experience collecting, recording, and interpreting cultivation or environmental data.(Preferred)
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify subtle changes in plant health and facility conditions.
Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment and cultivation best practices.
Ability to recognize irrigation distribution issues, environmental deviations, and crop performance concerns.
Strong organizational skills and commitment to maintaining consistent quality standards.
