Under the supervision of a Lead Irrigation Technician or Supervisor, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems
Perform walkthroughs of irrigation systems, identifying and flagging required repairs
Support new system installations and component replacements
Load and unload tools, materials, and heavy equipment
Assist with planning and coordinating daily materials and task assignments
Operate company vehicles (with or without trailers) to transport crew and equipment
Support communication on-site with clients, subcontractors, and team members
Learn to diagnose and repair irrigation controllers, valves, and electrical components
Accurately complete daily paperwork, including timesheets and service documentation
Participate in regular safety meetings and follow all company safety guidelines
Gain experience operating and maintaining the following equipment:
Trenchers, tampers, compact excavators, boring equipment, and fault locators
Multi-meters, wire locators, and irrigation-specific diagnostic tools
Pressure washers, pumps, aerators, slit seeders, chain saws, and hand tools
Maintain service vehicle inventory and cleanliness
Support other divisions such as installation or floriculture when needed
Assist with snow removal operations during the winter season
Follow all company, state, and industry regulations related to irrigation systems
Required Skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Must wear work boots, Bland Landscaping uniforms, and maintain a clean and professional appearance
Must practice safety at all times, especially when handling chemicals and operating equipment
Must wear proper eye and ear protection as required by company safety standards
Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred)
Must demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Must comply with all company policies and procedures
Must pass a background check as a condition of employment
