    Job Description

    Isaacs Accounting, P.C., is a certified public accounting practice (sole proprietor) in Pikesville, Maryland. We partner with businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals to improve and enhance their financial position by providing full-service accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services. Our goal is to help our clients understand their numbers.

    We are looking for a driven individual with a basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles/terms, who is ready for an immersive accounting experience. With supervision, you can expect to participate in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, analyze actual financial data, and assist with other accounting activities. One should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy.

    REQUIREMENTS: To be a strong candidate for the position, one should possess an understanding of accounting and financial principles and a positive attitude. Must be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn; also, a self-starter, diligent, deadline-driven, and a team player. Ideally, one should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; organized; and detail-oriented. One must demonstrate the ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Perform accounting functions such as reconciling accounts; processing payroll; and managing accounts payable, and accounts receivable
    • Post transactions and journal entries into an electronic accounting system
    • Assist with preparation of payroll tax reporting
    • Review, analyze, and compile financial data
    • Reconcile and review various general ledger accounts
    • Research, data entry, file documents, and record and maintain accurate and complete financial records
    • Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents
    • Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
    • Work to become knowledgeable of client businesses
    • Prepare supporting workpapers such as payroll and fixed assets schedules
    • Review payroll data to prepare reports and print checks
    • Organize, copy, and file accounting data
    • Prepare sensitive accounting, income tax, and payroll documents for mailing
    • Learn to work as part of an Accounting team in a professional office setting, to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the office and its clients
    • Perform additional general office tasks

    OFFICE HOURS: Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Saturday hours during Tax Season). Must be willing to work a minimum of 4 hours per day; at least 3 days per week.
