Job Description

Isernio’s Sausage Company is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team. In this position you’ll be responsible for the procurement of materials and supplies, as well as coordination of certain inventory control functions, for our fresh meat processing facility in Kent, WA. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Procure materials and ingredients in a timely manner by closely monitoring usage, forecasts, and current inventory to ensure materials are ordered and on-hand when needed.
• Ensure materials are purchased at best possible price by conducting research and analysis of vendors and costs.
• Search, compile and coordinate testing of new materials for potential utilization in finished goods for cost reduction, product enhancement, etc.
• Assist in keeping bill of materials up to date by updating ERP system.
• Monitor and update vendor approval documents, certifications, and specifications.
• Address and resolve invoice discrepancies and material defect issues.
• Assist new product launch team by assisting with timely completion of all necessary phases of art, approval and printing of materials to meet desired launch date.
• Conduct cycle counts of dry goods on a weekly basis.
• Monitor finished goods inventory to ensure short-coded product is moved out in a timely manner.
• Participate in quarterly physical inventory process.
• Other projects as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Able to work cooperatively with others as well as independently.
• Proven ability to develop effective work plans and priorities in order to meet business and customer objectives.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with key internal customers and other key stakeholders.
• Computer knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• 2+ years’ experience in material purchasing, manufacturing industry preferred.
• Experience working within an ERP system preferred.
