ISOLATEK INTERNATIONAL, the industry leader in the marketing and manufacturing of passive fire protection materials for the construction industry has an immediate opening for a full time RESEARCH TECHNICIAN in our Research & Development Department at its corporate headquarters in Stanhope, NJ.

SUMMARY:  

The RESEARCH TECHNICIAN is responsible for conducting various research and product development activities to support department objectives.  This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Order and prepare materials and equipment
• Prepare samples for testing
• Operate and maintain machinery and equipment
• Inspect, conduct tests, measure and record data
• Maintain calibration status of equipment
• Assist R&D Scientists and Engineers and Senior Scientists as required
• Design and build test apparatus
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Comply with corporate health and safety practices
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Periodic travel is required

EXPERIENCE:        

A minimum of 2 years work experience in a technical environment, paint or coatings industry.

EDUCATION:

An associate degree is strongly preferred in either Science or Engineering .

SKILLS:

• Ability to work in a team environment
• Basic writing skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to coherently present information in informal settings
• Utilize basic computer programs such as Work and Excel
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Logical thinking to solve problems
• Ability to work atypical hours
