    Chemical Production Operator

    Compass Chemical International, a company of Italmatch USA Corporation is hiring a Chemical Production Operator.

    Italmatch USA Corporation and its subsidiaries manufacture and sell specialty chemicals to its customers domestically and internationally. Italmatch USA is headquartered in Smyrna, GA. Our parent company is an international chemical company with worldwide operations and sales headquartered in Genoa, Italy.

    Production Operator

    Performs a wide variety of tasks associated with the manufacturing process. Examples of these are filling drums, loading/ unloading tank wagons, charging batches, operating forklifts, operating various pieces of equipment, washing drums and totes, washing trucks, housekeeping duties, and other tasks as needed.

    This position is required to work a rotating twelve-hour schedule.

    (7 am-7 pm and 7 pm-7 am) (4 nights on – 3 off – 3 days on – 1 off – 3 nights on – 3 off –

    4 days on – 7 off)

    Functional aspects:

    • Reading and following written materials, Batch sheets, instruction sheets, labels, etc.

    • Reading numbers and symbols and recording on paper or computer as required.

    • Observing, reading, or inspecting small details to inspect, test, and evaluate product or processes.

    • Observe machinery, tools, and equipment to set up, operate, and perform tasks or processes.

    • Observe the actions of people to respond to workplace and personnel emergencies.

    • Listen to verbal instructions, orders, conversations, etc. to work as a team member.

    • Report spills or leaks to management.

    Physical demands:

    • Standing in place for long periods to perform tasks and duties of the job.

    • Walking on flat surfaces or slight inclines and/or rough or uneven surfaces.

    • Climbing ladders to perform tasks such as repairs on machinery or inspecting a process.

    • Maintain balance while working on narrow, slippery, or steep surfaces.

    • Pushing or pulling heavy objects weighing more than 50 lbs. or requiring up to 100 lbs. of force or more, to move equipment, raw materials, drums, etc.

    • Lifting or carrying objects weighing more than 50 lbs.

    • Lifting, carrying, or supporting “oversized” objects to perform tasks.

    • Bending, stooping, and kneeling to perform work on equipment or machinery.

    • Reaching below the waist, from waist to shoulder, and above the shoulder to perform related work tasks.

    • Working in extremely confined and cramped positions from time to time.

    • Making careful finger movements and grasping objects with fingers and palms.

    • Making repetitive movements with arms and hands to handle products to perform tasks.

    • Maintain controlled, steady arm-hand positions to perform tasks.

    • Ability to wear an air-purifying respirator.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Education: High school or equivalent

    • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment

    • Chemicals manufacturing (preferred)

    Working conditions:

    • Out-of-door environment and subject to temperatures below freezing for periods of

    more than one hour and temperatures above 90 for periods of more than one hour.

    • Loud work environment requiring hearing protection in some areas.

    • Vibration.

    • Working in an industrial chemical environment that will require the use of various personal protective equipment including respirators.

    • Working at night.
