    Job Description

    The Real Estate Development Associate provides support to the Real Estate Development Department in all aspects of affordable housing development. The Associate is specifically responsible for supporting real estate development staff with applications for financing, closing and construction, maintaining budgets, files and records, coordinating community outreach, providing assistance with marketing, website, and mailings.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    REAL ESTATE DEPARTMENT SUPPORT

    • Assist with funding applications, including preparing and organizing application materials, maintaining schedules and entering data into online application systems;
    • Organize and maintain permanent files for all real estate development projects;
    • Maintain professional communication with clients, lenders, attorneys, and funders and assist other staff in responses as needed;
    • Coordinate the preparation and submission of lender, investor and state required-documents for construction loan and permanent loan closings;
    • Organize meetings and conference calls. Prepare minutes of calls and meetings;
    • Maintain knowledge of funder requirements and deadlines and complete reports for compliance and monitoring;
    • Prepare marketing materials and update online communication specific to real estate development projects;
    • Organize materials for municipal board submissions;
    • Research topics as required to implement real estate development projects;
    • Assist Real Estate Development staff with administrative support as needed.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of two years of professional experience in one or a combination of the following fields: housing and community development, community and economic development, non-profit housing and community development management and administration, accounting, bookkeeping, real estate, or finance.

    Financial analysis skills are required. Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

    Intermediate proficiency in Windows-based software including MS Word, MS Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel.

    Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the INHS mission to revitalize neighborhoods and to assist low to moderate income people in obtaining quality housing on a long-term basis.

    Preferred: Proficiency in graphic design and CAD software.

    TRAVEL

    Travel around the service area, including out-of-county, will occur occasionally. A valid driver’s license and access to transportation is required.
