    Job Description

    We are hiring for a SALES REPRESENTATIVE IN THE VET AND PET INDUSTRY

    THE TERRITORY FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE SOUTH/SOUTHEAST US. THE POSITION IS BASED IN SAN DIMAS, CALIFORNIA, HOWEVER, REMOTE WORK IN OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE TERRITORY, IDEALLY NEAR A MAJOR METROPOLITAN AIRPORT, WILL BE CONSIDERED.

    This is a full-time, salary + commission position.

    Company is a distributor and wholesaler of small animal care and equine products. For for a Vet Sales Representative to expand company market.

    Duties to include:

    1. Call on target, current and prospective customers in order to generate sales, improve market share, and increase income for AVS.
    2. Utilize the computer as a sales aid and be competent in the use of Outlook, and the Kawell website.
    3. Seek to understand the needs of the veterinarian and clinic and, in turn, select products and services to satisfy those needs.
    4. Establish appropriate relationships with veterinarians and clinics.
    5. Review and utilize sales analysis in pre and post call planning.
    6. Prepare and maintain a written call cycle consistent with territory changes. Share information with Kawell Management/Supervisor.
    7. Stay current on the full line of products and services offered by Kawell.
    8. Demonstrate competency in Kawell sales programs, products, and techniques.
    9. Establish account profiles for customers within territory.
    10. Be responsive to communication from customers, and team members.
    11. Detail and/or demonstrate new products and techniques for customers.
    12. Attending tradeshows and other industry-related events
    13. Meet sales goals and budget numbers.
    14. Act as a resource to the customer in Kawell products.
    15. Maintain adequate support material and detail aids in automobile.
    16. Participate in conference calls and meetings as request.
    17. Supervise a Vet Systems Associate for the assigned region.
    18. Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • 3 years of outside sales experience required; preferably in animal health

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS/SPECIALIZED COURSES AND/OR TRAINING:

    • Knowledge of company’s products, pricing practices, and selling skills.
    • Effective management skills with ability to manage the company’s sales operations.
    • Effective time management, communications, decision making, presentation, and organization skills.
    • Excellent writing, editing, communications, and interpersonal skills.
    • Professional appearance and presentation required.

     

    MACHINE, TOOLS, AND OR/ EQUIPMENT SKILLS:

    Strong knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office. PC’s and various software languages used as required. Cognos experience a plus. Salesforce.com experience a plus.
