Global Asset Manager

J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for a Software Engineer to join a global technology team that supports the investment platform of a Global Asset Manager.

A great opportunity for a strong technologist with a desire to work within the investment environment for a global asset manager and enjoy seeing, firsthand, how their efforts contribute to the business. This hands-on strategic position provides the opportunity to deliver software solutions and will enable the engineer-developer to contribute significantly to the success of the business globally. The role will allow the engineer-developer to work on a variety of modern technologies built on cloud-based infrastructure.

• Transforming Client platforms from regional to global
• Delivering new mobile capabilities to enable business agility and extend business reach
• Empowering businesses to increase insights by standing up an enterprise business intelligence (BI) platform
• Advance Data Governance to boost global business competitiveness
• Maximize application agility and scalability by adopting both public and private cloud technologies

Developing continuous delivery capabilities by utilizing DevOps to optimize time to market.

Principal Responsibilities:

In this role, you will join a global team of technologists whose primary focus is on designing, developing, and delivering next generation platforms for their asset management business. You will have the opportunity to directly partner with these business stakeholders, understand their objectives/needs and deliver strategic solutions that enable them to focus on investment performance and deliver superior results.

The ideal candidate would have a background including:

An in-depth understanding of development practices, familiarity with modern software development and design concepts across multiple object-oriented languages, as well as a passion for technology innovation that will allow you to harness emerging technology trends to deliver solutions to their business in an efficient and agile manner.

• 1-5+ years Python application development experience
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to independently debug and diagnose problems.
• Ability to manage user expectations and complete work requests within the stated or expected deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
