We are seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Specialist to join our client, a leading Building Materials company, in the Eugene, OR area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of Construction operations.
Duties:
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Develop and implement safety training programs for employees, focusing on accident prevention, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and to find preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
- Liaise with management and regulatory agencies to ensure that all aspects of the company's operations are in compliance with current safety legislation and standards.
- Maintain and update safety documentation and records, including incident reports, inspection logs, and training records.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in safety management within heavy civil construction and/or transportation sectors.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Health certification.
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Occupational Safety, Health, or a related discipline is preferred
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to train and motivate employees in safety practices.
