    Our Client is a Leading Contract Chemistry Organization serving as an outsourcing partner for the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industries. J-STAR has become a leading provider of services in organic synthesis problem solving, early phase non-GMP and GMP manufacturing and crystallization R&D.

    We currently have an opening for an entry level - Chemical Operations Scientist

    This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on Chemistry work in a Kilo lab.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in chemical operations and processing activities with a focus on work in non-GMP and cGMP kilo lab(s).
    • Assist chemists in non-GMP and cGMP kilo kilo lab(s) with batch set-up, chemical supply staging, preparative chemistry processing, area clean up and vessel clean out.
    • Become proficient in all non-GMP and GMP SOPs
    • Assist in the evaluation of production/processing equipment or fixtures for purchase and gathers data relating to their ability to meet organizational needs.
    • Assist in non-GMP and GMP kilo lab suite check out, clean out and check in processes.
    • Assist in overall upkeep, maintenance, organization and housekeeping of non-GMP and GMP kilo lab suites.
    • Assist in work to trouble-shoot, maintain, repair, purchase, replace and install defined kilo lab-related equipment and services.
    • Ensure kilo lab equipment is maintained in good working order
    • Perform other job-related duties and ad hoc facility-related projects as assigned by manager

    Qualifications

    • Proven track record of setting and meeting aggressive targets and timely execution of objectives.
    • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
      • Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse population sets.
      • Ability to communicate candidly, clearly and timely.
    • Experience in working on, positively contributing to, and leading teams.
    • Proficient in Microsoft®Office™and other job-related software and applications.
    • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position. Must be able to walk, stand, crawl, stoop, crouch, bend or reach above and below shoulders height frequently. This job requires twisting and turning of the body and the use of both hands

    Prerequisites

    • BA/BS or equivalent is required.
    • 0-4 years of preparative chemistry laboratory and/or chemical production work is preferred, but not required.
    • Experience within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry is preferred but not required.
