    JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

    To provide office and program support services for the manager of Insurance Counseling. To participate in the organization organizing of required volunteer training and to support management of volunteer counselors and administrative staff.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • General Administration: Manage overall office environment such as responding to phone calls, appointment scheduling, filing, copying, and overall office organization.
    • Customer Service: Interface directly with the public; address customer needs efficiently within scope of position
    • Volunteer Support: Support management of volunteers to include scheduling, training, and resolving client issues.
    •  Insurance Competency: Gain a basic knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA Insurance; stay current on applicable updates.
    • Data Management: Utilize required client management systems to record activities of self and others.
    • Management of Administrative Support Staff: Training and scheduling the administrative volunteers and seasonal staff in office practices, HIPPA regulations, phone procedure and data entry.
    • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Strengthens JABA's climate for diversity, equity & inclusion; Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds; serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages and backgrounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Employee works primarily in an office environment, this position also requires, the employee travels by automobile and be exposed to changing weather conditions. The employee works in varied business environments based on program needs.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    This role is largely sedentary with periods of moderate activity. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to participate in online and in person meetings and communicate effectively with team members, peers, community partners, and clients. Employee uses a computer extensively for data entry and other functions of the position. Employee uses a phone extensively t communicate with clients requiring services. Employee expected to maintain physical files and filing system. The position primarily works from an office or telecommuting environment and may travel to other locations within Virginia.

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week primarily working Monday – Friday. 

    TRAVEL

    Travel is primarily local travel during the business day.  

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • High School Diploma and 1-3 year of relevant work experience is required
    • Associate's degree is preferred
