JAI DEVELOPMENT CPG BEVERAGE FORMULATION - LAB ASSISTANT

JAI Development is a Brooklyn-based beverage consultancy. We have helped many emerging and successful beverage brands reach their next stage of evolution through formulation expertise, operations consulting, and utilizing our network of beverage industry professionals to help brands achieve their goals. JAI Development is an influential force in the world of CPG beverage with award-winning projects at both local and national levels. We are looking for a part-time to full-time lab assistant to help guide beverage brands towards success.

The position:

JAI Development is looking for a person eager to learn beverage formulation. This means in-person, hands-on training formulating award-winning beverages in an organized but relaxed laboratory setting. This position will include the following duties:

• Hands-on, in-person training at our lab in Brooklyn, NY learning how to create a plethora of beverages for a variety of clients.
• Supplier and vendor communications to achieve our formulation goals.
• Clientele relations, assisting and managing client expectations and communications.
• 360-degree exposure to the beverage world.
• Training for Laboratory management and potential promotion to salaried lab director of JAI Development's formulation department.

This position calls for:

• The ability to be trained in a unique system that will foster quantitative and qualitative formulation expertise; learning to use organizational skills to develop sound formulations that also taste great.
• The desire to develop a subtle and fine-tuned pallet, detecting nuisance and flavor balance.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google sheets and strong foundation in mathematics.
• Great detail orientation, clear communication skills, the ability to take instructions in a foreign subject, and taking ownership over multiple projects at once.
• The right candidate will have a passion for the CPG food and beverage world and an interest in becoming a lab director that has a hand in changing the products on the market!

This position starts as a part-time, paid training position leading into a full-time assistant position. From here, a nicely competitive salaried lab director position. This position will transition into a full-time position as soon as sufficient training progress is met.
