    Job Summary - Maintenance Mechanic: As a Maintenance Mechanic at the Ready-Mix Plant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of all machinery and equipment involved in the production process. Your responsibilities will include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, repairing equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will work closely with the production team to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.


    Duties/Responsibilities of Maintenance Mechanic:

    • Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and preventive maintenance on all machinery, including batching plants, conveyor systems, mixers, and related equipment, to ensure optimal performance and minimize breakdowns.
    • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly and accurately, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
    • Perform repairs and replacements on faulty components, such as motors, bearings, belts, gears, valves, and hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
    • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergencies swiftly, prioritize tasks, and take appropriate action to minimize disruptions to production operations.
    • Maintain adequate inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance activities, and coordinate with the procurement team to replenish stock as needed.
    • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or manual logs.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks, including lockout/tagout procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and conducting safety inspections.
    • Provide guidance and training to other personnel who may assist with maintenance efforts and collaborate with other departments, such as production and quality control, to address maintenance-related issues and improve overall plant efficiency.
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization, equipment upgrades, and cost-saving measures, and collaborate with management to implement improvements that enhance plant performance and reliability.

    Qualifications for Maintenance Mechanic:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
    • 5+ years as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in the concrete or construction industry.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
    • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment, to perform maintenance and repairs.
    • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
    • Flexibility in work schedule on occasions to support plant operations.
    • Commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies and regulations.
