    Summary - Construction Inspector: Jarbo Employment is seeking qualified Construction Observer candidates for a growing and well-respected company in the KC area. This position requires experience and certifications with KDOT and/or MoDOT projects and the ability to act autonomously and in a leadership capacity on projects.

    Job Duties - Construction Inspector:

    • Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents, and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
    • Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform complicated mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
    • Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified, and entered in the appropriate construction management systems daily.
    • Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Preferred Qualifications - Construction Inspector:

    • 10-years DOT experience.
    • KDOT Certifications Preferred. Other State's Certifications will be considered.

      • Concrete Field
      • Soils Field
      • Nuclear Gauge Field
      • Aggregate Field
      • Construction Stormwater
      • SuperPave (a plus)
    • Experience with KDOT AASHTOWare preferred.
    • May serve as a lead inspector on a project inspection team.
    • Ability to work as a team member on a project inspection team.
    • Ability to work independently on projects.
