SUMMARY – BASIC FUNCTION OF THE ROLE:
Responsible for developing an understanding of industry and product markets and assisting in the development of growth opportunities for the sales of products and/or services relating to Motor Repairs, Motor Rewinds, Mechanical maintenance, Circuit Breaker maintenance, Circuit Breaker retrofits, New electric motor sales, Switchgear maintenance, crane and hoist inspections and certifications, predictive maintenance, PDMA, Vibration analysis, optical alignment, on line monitoring of electrical equipment, among others. The Regional Sales Manager will be tasked with identifying potential new customer relationships and coordinating sales efforts in the Midwest Region and beyond. This position is a strategy development and key account management role.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for identifying prospects for expanding the revenue and profitability of business from key accounts within the Industrial / Processing industry sectors
- Reach across state and even regional boundaries to create cohesion in the region to drive growth in the industry
- Identification and development of new opportunities, applications and customers.
- Identify and prioritize routes to market and implement a strategy that supports new business development while maintaining strong relationships with existing longtime customers
- Obtain and analyze market information to assist with the development and implementation of strategic direction
- Manage top key accounts to drive revenue, growth and margin enhancement
- Assist in providing periodic reports on sales numbers, achievement and activity reports
- Meet or exceed the non-financial goals developed in conjunction with the leadership team
- To utilize industry databases and associations to identify and engage relevant players and promote company products and services to/for the industry
- Regional travel will be required to meet with decision makers at current clients and prospective clients
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Sales experience with demonstrated success managing complex accounts with multiple team members
- A fundamental understanding of Electrical Systems and ability to read blueprints for single line diagrams a must
- Sufficient technical competencies or the ability to navigate a technical environment with the support of subject matter experts
- Ability to communicate effectively among a diverse group of individuals from varying levels within the company and customer organization including Engineers and Management Teams
- Ability to search for solutions, continuous improvement and constantly raise the bar to stretch own and others’ levels of achievement
- Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office suite, CRM and industry databases to generate various reports, develop presentations and data management
- Inspires and motivates both internal and external associates
- Possesses the ability to clarify complex situations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering / Business) or similar Technical Degree and equivalent years of experience
- 10+ years of experience either directly or indirectly selling industrial equipment for small to large scale project types and customer bases
- Proven success working in an autonomous role whilst also being able to help develop other sales associates as/when needed
- Previous experience selling and developing business with industry clients in the spaces of:
- Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities
- Food Processing
- Petrochemical
- Cement Plants
- Hospitals
- Power Generation Facilities
- Municipalities that maintain electrical systems
