Currently seeking an Engineering Field Technician - Construction Material Tester (CMT) interested in establishing a career with one of the leading geotechnical engineering firms in the Kansas City area.
The ideal candidate will preferably possess experience/knowledge with construction material testing and soil sampling along with either an active ACI or EIT Certification.
Responsibilities of the Engineering Field Technician / CMT (Construction Materials Testing)
- Performs field quality control tests on plastic concrete.
- Performs field density testing on soil, asphalt, and aggregate.
- Performs routine laboratory tests on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
- Prepares written daily field observation reports and summary reports.
- Obtains and maintains all required safety training and certifications which could include, but are not limited to OSHA 10 Hour, CPR/First Aid, and defensive driving.
- Adhere to all the safety requirements of the position while assisting team members to do the same.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements of the Engineering Field Technician / CMT (Construction Materials Testing)
- High school diploma (BS degree in Civil Engineering with EIT preferred) ACI (American Concrete Institute) certifications preferred
- Safety training and certifications which could include, but are not limited to OSHA 10 Hour, CPR/First Aid, and defensive driving; or the ability to obtain these certifications
- Preferred experience/knowledge with construction material testing and soil sampling
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to perform all of the physical requirements of the position
- Ability to effectively utilize commonly used computer software programs (GIS experience preferred) Willingness and ability to travel as needed

- Use hands and fingers to control, handle and feel objects
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds when necessary
- Must be able to work outside year-round in all conditions present
