    Currently seeking an Engineering Field Technician - Construction Material Tester (CMT) interested in establishing a career with one of the leading geotechnical engineering firms in the Kansas City area.

    The ideal candidate will preferably possess experience/knowledge with construction material testing and soil sampling along with either an active ACI or EIT Certification.

    Responsibilities of the Engineering Field Technician / CMT (Construction Materials Testing)

    • Performs field quality control tests on plastic concrete.
    • Performs field density testing on soil, asphalt, and aggregate.
    • Performs routine laboratory tests on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
    • Prepares written daily field observation reports and summary reports.
    • Obtains and maintains all required safety training and certifications which could include, but are not limited to OSHA 10 Hour, CPR/First Aid, and defensive driving.
    • Adhere to all the safety requirements of the position while assisting team members to do the same.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    Requirements of the Engineering Field Technician / CMT (Construction Materials Testing)

    • High school diploma (BS degree in Civil Engineering with EIT preferred) ACI (American Concrete Institute) certifications preferred
    • Safety training and certifications which could include, but are not limited to OSHA 10 Hour, CPR/First Aid, and defensive driving; or the ability to obtain these certifications
    • Preferred experience/knowledge with construction material testing and soil sampling
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    • Ability to operate a company vehicle
    • Ability to perform all of the physical requirements of the position
    • Ability to effectively utilize commonly used computer software programs (GIS experience preferred) Willingness and ability to travel as needed
    • \Standing and walking for long hours
    • Use hands and fingers to control, handle and feel objects
    • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds when necessary
    • Must be able to work outside year-round in all conditions present
