Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and caring hybrid of Periodontal Dental Assistant to join our team! You will provide top-notch dental care that makes our clients feel like family. Your DA responsibilities would include: providing assistance to the dentist during exams and surgical procedures and complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, ordering, cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment, assisting the front desk with scheduling/checking out patients, and managing phone calls. The ideal candidate has an associate's degree from a certified school and previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a surgical practice. Responsibilities
Welcome patients into the treatment area and make them feel comfortable
Discuss the dental care plan with patients and answer any questions they have
Take vital signs and accurately record medical history
Prep sterilized equipment and make it available to the dentist for exams and procedures
Assist the dentist during procedures and exams
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies
Fabricate and present treatment plans to patients
Should be familiar with some dental insurances (We are a PPO and FFS office)
Must be willing to cross train on front desk (FD) duties to cover FD if FD is out.
Qualifications
Expanded function dental assisting certification
Familiar with digital charting, Dentrix, digital radiography, intra-oral scanning
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to provide high-quality patient care
Periodontal or surgical experience is not mandatory but is preferred, some dental assisting experience IS required.
