    Job Summary:

    An Account Director (AD) is the senior contact for clients within our organization and manages/oversees account teams to ensure campaigns are delivered and service level is met. They direct and lead public relations projects and provide strategic counsel to clients. As a senior member of the team, they deliver new business and grow existing accounts.

     

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all day-to-day account activities; pro-actively develop comprehensive communications plans and supervise the implementation of a full range of tactical elements for all client programs

    • Work with leadership to allocate account resources and guide account team members to achieve long-term program objectives; ensure quality work, deadline and budget adherence across teams

    • Manage client relationships and budgets and ensure delivery on offerings laid out in SOW; where necessary, renegotiate monthly fees/SOWs with clients

    • Develop strong and sustainable relationships with clients and appropriately manage client expectations

    • Accumulate and disseminate insight and knowledge of key industry media outlets and journalists; implement team-wide strategies to proactively identify and secure media opportunities for different clients

    • Efficiently coordinate cross-department collaboration with in-house digital, media and creative teams

    • Align with BD on SOWs for new accounts and identify and execute on BD opportunities with existing clients (e.g., paid social media, creative projects); opportunity to assist in development of BD materials and pitches

    • Lead and manage account team members by providing guidance on professional and personal development and constructive feedback across teams

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree, experience in the biotech, medtech, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry or an advanced science or medical degree; 5-9 years of communications or relevant experience.
