MAINFRAME Z/OS STORAGE ADMINISTRATOR

Offices are in Houston TX, NY and Missouri- there will be some remote but will require coming into the office on occasion.

STORAGE ADMINISTRATOR

The Storage Administrator position is responsible for the storage infrastructure technologies on our Mainframe computing platform. This is a highly technical position with specialization in storage technologies such as IBM DS8800, TS7700, HSM, DFSHSM, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists in completing service request tickets assigned to the Technical Support team.

• Assists the senior staff with the implementing of new storage solutions.

• Gains a more in-depth understanding of jobs, processes and tasks performed by the Technical Support group.

• Participates in disaster recovery activities for systems supported by Technical Support.

• Participates in on-call duties.

• Assists senior team members with updating standard process and procedure documentation.

• Recommends process improvements to senior staff members.

• Completes training on storage systems and related software implementations, performance tuning and problem-solving exercises.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field, or the equivalent years of experience.

• Minimum of one year as an associate storage administrator, a minimum of three years as an application programmer, or the equivalent experience.

• On-call rotation (24/7) and be able to respond to problems quickly and accurately.
