    Senior Network Engineer - Remote/DC

    Responsibilities:

    Principal integration engineer, responsible for the overall integration of service delivery arrangements involving LANs/MANs/WANs including the planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of agency LANs/MANs/WANs

    Responsible for the technical, architecture, and engineering changes to customer LANs/MANs/WANs, to include the ability to troubleshoot multi-vendor network issues in the LANs/WANs and ability to work with multiple teams to identify bottlenecks and other network configuration issues.

    Interface with the customer's telecommunications service providers.

    Engineers, configures, troubleshoots, and supports Cisco and Linux-based router solutions.

    Recommends, plans, designs, and implements new solutions and technologies based on emerging technologies with Government approval.

    Reviews and recommends information that may result in the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and/or telecommunications services.

    Recommends network architecture changes to improve performance, security, etc.

    Develops highly detailed network design diagrams and documentation to be utilized by Government and contract staff.

    Acts as the technology lead for designing the network and security platforms and technical lead supporting the network.

    Support security audits, assessments, design, implementation, and configuration.

    Provide technical vision in the support and deployment of network and security technologies.

    Work with project managers, business analysts, and Contractors on security solutions to address customers' security requirements.

    Research and recommend information on security-related solutions. Performs software evaluations and testing of new and existing security solutions.

    Function as a "Tier 4" support resource on network products and problems that are in use.

    Installs configure and operate networks in highly complex environments with specific protocols and instructs and directs those doing these tasks as well.

    Conduct configuration and troubleshooting of IPSec and SSL VPNs

    Qualifications:

    10 years of experience planning, designing, and analyzing LANs/MANs/WANs, overseeing the implementation and test/troubleshooting activities, reviewing, and approving changes/modifications to the design and implementation, documenting the installed system, and recommending and operating the network management and control systems to maintain LAN/MAN/WAN hardware and software.

    10 years of experience designing, architecting, and supporting Cisco ASA Firewall, IDS/IPS modules and Linux routing enterprise systems.

    Performed as principal Network Engineer on at least one enterprise technical refresh project.

    Demonstrated expert level experience working with operating systems and protocols such as Cisco IOS and NX-OS, Linus routing technologies, OSPF/BGP, and VMWare Virtualization.

    Expert level knowledge of the OSI model, common network protocols, TCP/UDP ports, and common network troubleshooting tools (tcpdump, Wireshark, etc.)

    Understanding of the Cisco UCS integrated infrastructure and Flex pod Data Center solutions

    Possesses full technical knowledge of all phases of network operations.

    Must be able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve complex networking problems.

    Excellent communication skills show tact, effective listening skills and follow through.

    Ability to provide clear written documentation on network procedures and diagrams.

    Ability to effectively interact with staff from other sections on complex client/server problems.

    Detail oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments.

    Reviews the work of others and can detect errors or needed modifications.

    Support program capabilities through the growth and mentoring of Network Engineering Team staff.

    Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

    Minimum of ten (10) years of experience

    ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certification preferred

    Experience with Cisco Nexus products preferred

    CCNA required CCNP preferred

    Current Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), or equivalent, certification preferred

    Requirements:

    U.S Citizenship is required.

    Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

    This position is currently remote, but it will require on site presence in Washington, DC for specific meetings or events.
