    Technical Writer – Arlington, VA

    We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support our DHS client. The Candidate will be supporting a team that oversees the full lifecycle of DHS program promotion, including planning, developing and delivering a variety of outreach activities and products. The Candidate will support the development of outreach strategies focused on specific stakeholder segments and identify strategic requirements to further enhance DHS information sharing capabilities. The Candidate will take a leading role in developing outreach materials and stakeholder engagement strategies to support sector and cross-sector collaboration communities, both at the national and regional levels, through expanding communication channels. The Candidate should demonstrate a strong ability to analyze comprehensive information, write clear and concise deliverables, and able to travel to client engagement events throughout the US (e.g., exhibitions and meetings with stakeholders). The candidate must also demonstrate experience in engaging professionally in an office environment and working with the client to problem solve challenges. The technical writer will work closely with the Communications and Outreach Manager and support the rest of the team where needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate Degree or higher and 5 years’ or more experience
    • Experience supporting a major client and their stakeholders
    • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
    • Professional office demeanor
    • Demonstrates excellent focus on client needs and exceptional customer service
    • Ability to see projects to conclusion with limited assistance
    • Experience with social media and graphics an advantage
    • Ability to travel within the US in support of client up to 2x per month
    • Demonstrate interest in homeland security matters
