Title: Chem-film Technician
Description/Summary: Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Chem-film Technician will play a vital role in the company's production processes. This position involves a range of responsibilities, ensuring the accurate and precise execution of chem-film applications for various aerospace components.
Responsibilities: As a Chem-film Technician, your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Agitating baths every morning for 10 minutes.
- Filling baths with DI water to the proper tank height.
- Checking job travelers for information on the customer and the required cleaning specifications.
- Verifying part quantities to ensure accuracy against the job traveler.
- Cleaning parts according to specifications, such as degreasing, chem-film application (cl-1A or cl-3), and etching for pre-weld processes.
- Completing necessary paperwork for etching or classifying chem-film.
- Packaging parts appropriately and delivering them to the next department.
- Maintaining a clean work area and baths to prevent contamination of parts.
- Conducting weekly and monthly titration tests to ensure proper pH and chemical concentration.
Required Experience: To excel in this role, candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Ability to read aerospace blueprints.
- Familiarity with various metals and chemicals.
- Strong math skills, including ounce, gallon, and pound conversions.
- Capacity to follow precise directions and adhere to specifications.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in chem-film processes.
- Dependable, professional, and possesses a strong work ethic.
- Team player with effective communication skills.
