    Position Overview:
    As a Gear Engineer, you'll play a vital role in planning gear manufacturing processes and developing manufacturing data for gears and related components. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and solve problems, recommend tooling, and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency in gear production.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan gear manufacturing processes and develop manufacturing data for gears and related components.
    • Determine processes, operation sequences, dimensions, and tolerances, and prepare route sheets, operation sheets, and picture sheets.
    • Analyze and solve problems related to gear manufacturing.
    • Recommend specialized spline and gear processing tooling and prepare essential procurement data.
    • Assist in gear making inspection, planning, and quality control.
    • Provide technical advice and support production and inspection supervision in developing proper procedures, methods, and acceptance standards.
    • Assist in determining gear processing and tool requirements for cost estimation.
    • Advise and assist customers in gear design and development.
    • Establish specialized tooling requirements and designs for the gear manufacturing process.

    Selection Criteria:

    • Preferred BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and/or Institute of Technology Diploma in subjects related to tool design and process engineering with 7-10 years of experience.
    • Extensive shop experience in gear manufacturing, assembly, and quality control.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
    • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and 6-Sigma defect analysis.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of products and parts.
    • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts or airborne particles.
    • Frequent exposure to moderate to heavy noise.
