Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and enhance manufacturing methods for existing products to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Rapidly review customer contracts and interpret requirements within tight timelines, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Collaborate with production control, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to develop routers, BOMs, station plans, and other essential processes.
- Support compliance with customer's special process requirements through meticulous testing and documentation.
- Estimate production times and costs to inform management decisions, ensuring accurate entry into our ERP system.
- Maintain all necessary customer documentation, reviewing specification changes for potential impacts on product.
- Perform Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and disposition of non-conforming materials.
- Apply statistical methods to enhance and control future manufacturing requirements and potentials.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University required, with a preference for S.T.E.M. degrees in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering.
- Minimum of five years of hands-on experience, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting work instructions.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes required; additional experience with hydroform, punch press, laser, welding, and vacuum heat treat processes is advantageous.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office products (Excel, Word, Project, Visio, Outlook, Access), with competency in Solidworks preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform essential job functions, including standing, handling materials, reaching, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
- Limited exposure to the factory environment required for review purposes; however, this position does not involve labor or direct supervision.
- Capability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs and use standard measuring equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
