    Job Title: CNC Lead

    Department: Machine Shop

    Reports To: Production Supervisor

    Summary:

    CNC Leads are pivotal team members responsible for overseeing and optimizing CNC machining processes within the machine shop department. They blend technical expertise with leadership to ensure seamless operations and attainment of SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) objectives.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Safety Leadership:
      • Actively participate in the Safety Committee and maintain 6S standards within the assigned department(s).
      • Serve as a certified First Responder, ensuring a safe work environment.
    2. Technical Expertise:
      • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality departments on New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, contributing to the development of station plans and OIS documents.
      • Work alongside Manufacturing Engineers to enhance processes, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.
    3. Quality Management:
      • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for turn back jobs, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to identify and implement improvement actions.
      • Attend Scrap & Turn back reviews to address quality issues promptly.
    4. Training and Development:
      • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for team members on equipment setup, operation, and safety protocols.
      • Share expertise in setting up tools, calculating offsets, and making adjustments within defined parameters.
    5. Material and Workflow Management:
      • Implement and manage material Kanban systems to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
      • Coordinate dispatch priorities, ensuring the timely execution of high-priority tasks by qualified Operators.
    6. Leadership in Supervisor's Absence:
      • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Supervisor, including facilitating meetings and providing necessary information.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED required, with preference for vocational training.
    • Demonstrated experience at the highest operator level for the department, with 2 or more years of relevant experience.
    • Proficiency in mathematical calculations and blueprint interpretation.
    • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
    • Completion of Company's Quality Inspection and GD&T training courses.

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to perform essential job functions, including standing, handling tools, and lifting up to 50lbs.
    • Proficiency in operating a Forklift, with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Flexibility to work in various areas of the shop as needed.

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable.
    • Proficiency in writing and optimizing CNC programs using MasterCAM Software.
    • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and measuring tools.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
