    ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN

    SIGN-ON BONUS: $4K

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Electronics and Instrumentation Technician will safely and efficiently maintain, troubleshoot issues with and work to improve the electrical subsystems within the production facility. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

    SALARY

    Starting at $24/hr - commensurate with experience

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
    • Work in a fast-paced environment, responding appropriately to changing priorities.
    • Respectfully interact with a diverse group of people.
    • Adhere to safe work practices, complete monthly safety audits/observations, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to the management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
    • Effectively communicate the status of issues and projects with the management, vendors, peers and production personnel.
    • Use the appropriate tools (e.g. multimeter, software) to troubleshoot and diagnose the root cause of electrical issues in the facility.
    • Troubleshoot and test functionality of process instrumentation; flow meters, level transmitters, level switches...etc.
    • Work with internal and external resources to resolve issues as quickly and effectively as possible.
    • Interpret electrical schematics and user manuals.
    • Troubleshoot hardware issues with PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and touchscreens.
    • Use basic network troubleshooting to diagnose control networking issues.
    • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance plans and work orders.
    • Train others on technical content (especially as it relates to electrical subsystems).
    • Continually seek out opportunities for process improvements.
    • Assist and consult with the management/engineering on projects as needed.
    • Assist mechanics when necessary.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of troubleshooting electronic instrumentation
    • PLC troubleshooting
    • High School or GED; technical training a plus
