Job Description

This will be a REMOTE internship, with the potential of an in-person presentation of the final report at the end of the internship.  Through research, advocacy, partnerships and outreach, JDRF is racing to find cures for tomorrow while striving to improve the lives of those with T1D today. JDRF positions its scientific resources, policy influence and strategic working plan to bring life-changing breakthroughs from therapeutic concepts to the community. JDRF offers undergraduates/graduate students the opportunity to apply their writing skills and scientific knowledge to work in the non-profit setting, with support and guidance from the director, community screening and clinical trial education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing social media content describing ongoing research studies and clinical trials in type 1 diabetes
• Supporting the development of standard operating procedures/best practices for clinical trial education volunteers.
• Interact with volunteers to collect success metrics on in-market activities
• Liaise with JDRF Research staff to develop insight into research strategy and priorities
• The final report submitted will include:
  •  A summary of the social media content developed about T1D clinical trials and studies.
  • An overview of the resources available to clinical trial research volunteers and how to access them.
  • A summary of volunteer success during January to June, 2022.
  • A description of best practices/standard operating procedures

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate program or graduate program at an accredited university
• Major or focus in Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, or similar field
• Excellent writing and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
