    SUMMARY

    This self-starting individual is responsible for driving fundraising success in the Tennessee Chapter, with a primary focus on corporate sponsorship and account management. Through collaboration and coordination with national and regional teams, Chapter staff, and volunteer partners, the Development Manager champions a strategic approach to developing corporate partnerships that may include event sponsorship, program underwriting, employee engagement, payroll deduction, retail campaigns and activation/give-back campaigns.

    The right person in this position is an integral member of the team, driving new business development, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of fundraising, and chapter operations.  This includes identifying and engaging new partners while retaining and upgrading existing partners.  He or she organizes and executes select administrative components that support the sponsorship sales cycle, from qualification to stewardship.

    The position is based in Nashville (office in Brentwood). While staff are currently working remotely, the expectation is that staff will return to the office with a flexible work schedule when it is safe to do so. This is a role within the Tennessee Chapter, so they will collaborate with staff and supporters across the whole chapter geography, which includes East and West Tennessee.

     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides management and active leadership for all corporate partnerships and related activities within the chapter.
    • Responsible for building and implementing a strategy to develop a pipeline of new corporate partners and door-openers, and managing the pipeline resulting in the attainment of revenue goals ($1M+ event sponsorship goal).
    • Develops and executes long-range and short-range strategies and plans to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new corporate partners for the chapter on an ongoing basis.  Proactively seeks out and identifies new leads. Calls/meets with new prospects weekly. Develops and cultivates these leads to become corporate partners.
    • Mines data resulting in acquisition of sponsors and business leaders.  Leads prospect research and develops engagement plans, activities, and correspondence to support interactions with prospects.
    • Identifies and cultivates potential new board members, corporate walk chairs and gala honorees. Makes recommendations about volunteer leadership development opportunities to the Executive Director.
    • Executes plan for maximizing corporate Walk team participation.
    • Executes plan for Gala sponsorship campaign and audience development for corporate table guests.
    • Strategically and consistently utilizes CRM data management tool to maximize efficient and effective moves management of corporate pipeline.
    • Oversees assigned activities and helps establish strategic alliances.
    • Ensures personal accountability for meeting deadlines and responding to volunteers and other department requests.
    • Supports other fundraising events, chapter activities and programs as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 4 years of work experience including 2+ years fundraising or relevant business/volunteer experience.
    • Must be a self-starter, with the ability to collaborate as a team player.
    • Strong verbal and written communication. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
    • Excels in prospect research and thinking creatively to develop donor acquisition strategies.
    • Experience in event management preferred.
    • Experience in new business development and account management preferred.
    • Ability to create and manage process that enhances efficiency of staff work while allowing for donor centricity.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
    • Strong CRM database knowledge, Salesforce preferred.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Ability to travel within the chapter footprint (statewide). Occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
