    Job Description

    SUMMARY:

    This self-starting, motivated individual will be primarily responsible for helping drive fundraising success for Beat the Bridge – a 40 year Seattle landmark event raising millions of dollars for T1D research. Through collaboration and coordination with national and regional teams, Chapter staff, and volunteer partners, the Development Manager will be assigned a fundraising level focus area to champion and grow around teams and sponsorships.  The work includes team and sponsorship recruitment and development, and volunteer support recruitment and engagement, with ongoing cultivation and stewardship to ensure an extraordinary mission inspired, participant experience. This role may eventually take on additional cross-functional development work that helps provide enhanced community engagement and support of additional fundraising activities.    

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as a staff team member in contributing to the success of the Chapter’s Beat the Bridge event
    • Contribute to the short, mid and long-range strategic planning for the success of Beat the Bridge and possibly the Chapter’s entire Walk program.
    • Proactively seek out and identify new leads for family, corporate and school teams. Develop cultivate, and steward these leads as they become part of Beat the Bridge and the Chapter’s Walk program.
    • In partnership with Chapter staff, manage the development, ongoing cultivation and stewardship of a portfolio of teams for Beat the Bridge.
    • In partnership with Chapter staff, help to identify and recruit volunteer Beat the Bridge leadership including Corporate Chairs, Family Team Chairs, and Walk Committee Chairs.
    • Partner with the volunteer committees, including recruitment, engagement and retention of committee members.
    • Develop and maintain impactful, meaningful and donor-centric relationships with teams, volunteers, event participants, sponsors and community partners.
    • In partnership with Chapter staff and volunteer committee members, help manage event logistics, including kick-off and rally events, day-of and subsequent celebratory gatherings.
    • Utilize event management software - Luminate Online, as well as CRM database – Salesforce.
    • Strategically and consistently utilize CRM data management tool to maximize efficient and effective moves management of donor pipeline.
    • Ensure personal accountability for meeting deadlines and responding to volunteers and other department requests.
    • Supports other Chapter development strategies, activities and events as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 4 years of work experience including 2+ years fundraising or relevant business/volunteer experience.
    • CRM database knowledge, Salesforce preferred
    • Self-starter, with the ability to collaborate as a team player
    • Team player who can achieve individual objectives and support those of the entire chapter team.
    • Self-motivated and able to successfully work on projects independently
    • Strong verbal and written communication.
    • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
    • Ability to create and manage processes that enhances efficiency of staff work while allowing for donor centricity.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
    • Detail-oriented
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Ability to travel within the chapter footprint. Occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
