    Job Description

    JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The goal of JDRF research is to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D.                        

    This is a temporary part time position slated to end in August 28, 2020. This posiiton is unpaid as it the internship is elgible for college credit.

    Key responsibility is the writing and editing of the Ford Global Action Team for JDRF Annual Report.

    Additional responsibilities

    Additionally, this person would include provide administrative and logistics support for fundraising events as assigned.  Fundraising events include walks, auctions, bake sales, raffles, golf and bowling events, raffles, personal donations, etc.

    Detailed Description                      

    • Communicate with Ford fundraising site leaders and champions to gather details of their 2019 fundraising efforts.
    • Communicate with JDRF chapter staff to gather details of their Ford Motor Company partnership.
    • Write and edit all content for the annual report.
    • Work with account staff to develop the creative content for the annual report.
    • Work with agency team to define the creative look and feel for the annual report.
    • Manage to the agreed upon timeline to ensure project stays on track.
    • Develop a tracking system to ensure effective communications and keep the senior manager apprised of all relevant issues.
    • Provide administrative support and/or collaborate with administrative assistant to insure the staff has all the administrative support required to help facilitate fundraising goals and the office's needs.
    • Maintain a basic understanding of JDRF's mission and research cure therapeutics.
    • Ensure the confidentiality and security of proprietary information.
    • Perform all other responsibilities and projects as assigned by immediate supervisor and senior management.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Some college preferred. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.  Computer proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access). 
    • Ability to learn new computer software programs.
    • Development and preparation of presentations. 
    • Experience working with volunteers and in handling the logistics of special events. 
    • A team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Must develop and maintain relationships. 
    • Able to effectively multi-task, establish priorities and work in a fast paced environment. 
    • Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure. 
    • Active listening and problem solving skills. 
    • Ability to travel locally required.
