    Job Description

    Hillebrand is seeking a candidate that can develop and enhance our procurement program covering ocean, dray, and domestic of +75,000 moves per year. The profile will anticipate business needs to ensure the implementation of optimal sourcing and supplier management processes & strategies in the international as well as domestic transport space. This role will drive solutions that secure capacity and on-time delivery while continuously driving down costs.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • In coordination with Group Ocean Freight Procurement, support all offices in securing their DOMESTIC TRANSPORT needs; work with internal departments across multiple business lines to anticipate requirements
    • Maintain a right match of drayage companies to support the activities in all active ocean ports and consider a mix of partners providing strategic choice/options to cover peaks
    • Manage DOMESTIC CARRIER mix that will provide best solution for our domestic program during high/low seasons
    • Develop strategic relationships with suppliers; work in coordination with Procurement Director and the Group global carriers strategy, drayage companies, consolidators, and intermodal vendors to negotiate transport contracts for import, export, and domestic shipments.
    • Understand and optimize the category cost structure, including surcharges, terms, and conditions. Ensure contract pricing levels achieve established targets.
    • Develop annual forecasts for each segment of services in volumes and spend to further analyze freight spend to identify opportunities for optimization. Qualify actionable opportunities and work together with vendors and departments/accounts owners to implement.
    • Act as a market intelligence provider, on top of trends; anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed; drive innovation. Identify, achieve and report on savings and other KPIs linked to vendor performance.
    • Create and maintain buying rate visibility through group tools or manual database sharing.
    • Provide guidance and analytics to RFP opportunities both local and on an international scope.
    • Develop and manage KPIs and metrics. Set targets and manage vendor performance in terms of cost, on-time delivery, quality, and service levels.
    • Manage capacity allocations and consider shifting volumes to loyal performers that are committed to building a mutual sound business.
    • Ensure government regulatory compliance requirements and import/export regulations are followed.
    • Partner with Operations, Sales, and other internal/external stakeholders to build the logistics business.
    • Motivate others by creating a climate in which people want to do their best.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 5-10+ years professional experience in transportation sourcing/procurement.
    • 5+ years experience leading end-to-end strategic sourcing processes in the transportation area, including spend analysis, supplier screening, benchmarking, clean-sheet costing, negotiations, supplier performance management, scorecards, contracting, and savings tracking.
    • 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple business lanes.
    • 5+ years of experience working with external vendor/logistics providers.
    • Proven record of delivering performance objectives and cost savings, particularly in decentralized organizations.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
    • Proven leadership skills and a track record of team building.
    • Demonstrates integrity and is widely trusted and respected.
    • Consistently exceed goals in driving business growth.
    • Demonstrates excellent judgment based upon strong market and product vision and excellent data-driven analysis.
